There is nothing quite like the routine of a morning drive-thru run. Today, Myles and I were sitting in the McDonald’s drive-thru waiting for breakfast. As usual, Myles was riding shotgun and living his absolute best life.
With the windows rolled down, his hound nose was twitching a mile-a-minute as it tracked the irresistible scent of French fries.

As we waited for our order, I heard a sweet, enthusiastic voice hollering from the car next to us:
“That doggie’s name is Myles, and he came to my school and wore goggles. He has his very own book!”
My heart instantly melted! I looked over and realized the child was talking about our recent visit to Cortland Elementary School.

As a new author, launching my very first children’s book Focus, Myles, Focus! has been an incredible whirlwind.
You hope the story resonates, and you hope the kids connect with it. But hearing a child spontaneously recall Myles, his signature goggles, and his story with such fondness while waiting for breakfast? It’s the ultimate reward!
This child’s precious comments have been one of the most encouraging reminders that our classroom visits are truly making an impact.
The timing of this sweet encounter couldn’t be more perfect.
Our second book, Go, Myles, Go! is set to be released this summer! Myles and I absolutely cannot wait to hit the road again. We’re eagerly looking forward to returning to schools, visiting classrooms, and sharing Myles’ brand-new adventure with every child we meet.
Thank you to our amazing young readers (and their sharp eyes in the drive-thru!) for keeping us inspired! Stay tuned for more release updates!
